Jim Beam launched the popular Japanese lemon Suntory drink in the Australian market, and they were confident in its product success.

Breaking away a piece from the latest health conscious seltzer craze, the top brass at Jim Beam/Coca Cola recognised it was the perfect time to launch the low sugar Japanese drink.

— It's worth noting that the Australian variant adjusted the alcohol content to 6% (from 9%) to accommodate local taste buds —

With a light hearted marketing campaign at the ready and a slightly tweaked recipe it was ready to take the aussie market by storm.

Fast foward a few months, almost all of the major players and some of the smaller guys have come to market with there offerings. In my view, the -196 continues to reign supreme amongst them with its flavour profile and sugar content making it perfect for a sesh or thirst quenching drop after mowing the lawns.

At present, Hard Solo (refer below) is garnering significant attention. This focus primarily stems from the desire to try an out-of-stock item rather than its strikingly similar taste to the child-friendly counterpart, Solo soft drink.

Whatever the future may bring, we can confidently claim that a lemon-infused beverage will be available for our palates this sunny season.
